Can I get xbox live on my original xbox still?

Everywhere is selling live for the 360 but not the original. Is original xbox live still working and how do I get online?

gamestop.com still sells the 12 month original xbox live cards, but this doesn’t really matter because whether you use a subscription are or not, they will still require a credit card to be on file before they will let you play, so you might as well just use a credit card to buy xbox live service through the xbox console itself

if the credit card is a problem, you can get a 360 xbox live card and redeem it using xbox.com and then recover your gamertag/profile onto your original xbox console, you’ll just have to use xbox.com for account management instead of your xbox console

original xbox live is still working, but the only games anyone plays are halo 2, mechassault 2, battlefield 2, and battlefront 2

if those games aren’t up your alley, then probably not a good idea to get xbox live at this time, until you have an xbox 360

other than that all you need is DSL or cable internet with at least 256kbps download/upload to be able to connect to the game servers(1500kbps is the recommended speed) and run an ethernet cable from your modem or router to the back of your xbox
